This year’s focus:
Life of Jesus
We have heard the story of Jesus’ birth, life, death, and Resurrection so often that we might tune out when we hear it at Mass or read it in the Bible. We might treat it like any other story we have been repeatedly exposed to. However, the story of Jesus is not like any other fictional story; Jesus really lived on this Earth. He claimed to be God in human form and proved it by rising from the dead — something no other person in human history has ever done. Jesus changed the world as we know it. The goal this year is for teens to gain a general understanding of Jesus’ life so they may realize what He did was transformational and why His actions are still relevant today.
What’s new:
Discipleship Groups
Throughout the course of the youth ministry year, lifeteeners will be given the opportunity to journey more intentionally by being part of a discipleship group of 6-8 students, 2 facilitators. Discipleship groups will gather during Advent 2022 and Lent 2023, meeting up once a week for four consecutive weeks, creating a culture of Christian fellowship, prayer, and discussion. During Advent, each discipleship group will reflect on themes during Advent. During Lent, each discipleship group will enter into a Lenten themed bible study.
